Hypnorescue: Reclaim Your Life After Narcissistic Abuse for AHC
As therapists or coaches we know that the issue that clients present with is seldom or never the real issue. For years I have been seeing women present with other issues, mostly weight loss, but there are of course many others. Often these women were not overly big. Weight loss was an acceptable ‘thing’ to see a therapist for. As we peeled back the layers of the onion, tracing the patterns of weight loss/gain or other patterns relating to different issues, the abusive relationships in their lives surfaced to be dealt with.
All therapists should be aware of what Narcissism is and what damage a Narcissist can inflict on their client’s lives. Often clients don’t realise they have been abused in a ‘love’ relationship with a Narcissist, especially when there is no physical violence involved. They can suffer significant psychological damage leading to complex PTSD. Unfortunately, many victims of Narcissistic Abuse (NA) get retraumatised by therapists who don’t understand what NA is and how this affects their client.
I created a course called Hypnorescue: Reclaim Your Life After Narcissistic Abuse so therapists can recognise when their client has been a victim of NA and have the tools at hand to help them shift the old toxic thought patterns and negative self-belief that has been programmed into them by a Narcissistic partner, parent or other figure in their lives.
This course gives you, the therapist or coach, a step by step 7 week program to access the client’s subconscious mind via hypno-visualisations to remove negative programming and its resultant toxic shame and create beneficial change in their lives by programming in positive change, renewed self-belief and a clear plan for a bright future. Each week features a coaching tool for a client to work on at home to consolidate their learnings from each session.
A client from a narcissistic family of origin is set up to allow other narcissists into his/her life. Women can also be narcissists & often men endure abuse in silence with no-one to talk to about it. This system can equally be used for men. Nowadays there is a lot of information out there about narcissism, which makes it easier for victims of narcissistic abuse to understand what they have been dealing with for perhaps their whole life. It takes time to undo the damage caused by narcissistic abuse. It’s a lot of programming to undo.
One of the things most often said by clients is that they have lost themselves. They no longer know who they are or what they want. Many narcissistic abuse victims are still imprisoned by their own mind years after leaving the relationship. Bear in mind that they have been blamed for everything for years, constantly degraded and humiliated, and perhaps even demonised.
Narcissists are chameleons. They shape shift according to their audience. In public the narcissist can be charming & charismatic, at home they can be totally toxic. Remember the story of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde? Strangers see Jekyll, partner and family see Hyde.
It’s therefore very easy for the narcissist to portray themselves as the innocent party and their victim as the toxic one. It is extremely hard for your client when people believe bad things about them which are totally untrue, especially if this is friends and family.
Narcissists are pathological liars and have no qualms about completely ruining someone's reputation, job, business, family or finances.
I have been there myself. I have walked the walk on more than one occasion which is why I am so passionate about helping others firstly avoid ending up in this type of relationship and secondly reclaim their lives and thrive.
